Buns are back in full force, whether for an event, work or everyday life, there's no more elegant hairstyle than the classic bun, and there are versions to suit all tastes, textures, volume and hair length, unless your hair is a light pixie, if that's not your case, you'll find one that pleases your eyes.

An elegant way to present yourself at any event, formal or informal, pinned-up hair is all the rage.
We've selected the most classic ones and once you've learned how to do them, you can make endless variations
Chignon

The retro chignon bun is an elegant French classic. With a variety of sleak, textured, messy, voluminous and messy versions, there are many styles to suit all tastes.
What characterizes a chignon is a low bun tied at the nape of the neck.
Instructions
Brush your hair to get rid of any knots. If your hair is curly, just try to align the strands with your fingers
Divide your hair into three parts, with side sections,
Make a twist with one side and secure at the back with a bobby pin, the same way with the other side.
With the rest of the hair, tuck it to one side and leave the ends loose
With this end, divide two strands again and twist each one, covering the bun until it's finished.
Once the bun is secure, pull the strands slightly to fluff them up and achieve a looser look.
Chignon simple

Another simple chignon option
twist the side strands into a tail at the nape of the neck,
Pass the end of the hair through the hair tie and secure.
Again pull out strands for a more voluminous effect
Chignon long hair

Divide your hair into three parts, with side sections, make a low ponytail tied at the nape of the neck
Fold the hair over and secure the loose ends with another elastic.
With this loose end, twist to cover the elastic, leaving the strands looser
Secure the side section with bobby pins, crossing the sides over each other
Chingon with braid

Divide a strand diagonally to make two side braids
braid the braids, then pull out strands to fluff up the braid
cross the braids and secure so as to hide the ends inside the braid
Tighten again if you want it looser,
Lace braid

Directions
Divide your hair into two halves, from the center of your forehead to the nape of your neck. Let the front sections of your hair fall loose
Start braiding a section of hair, starting at the ear and extending to the neck. As you braid the hair, keep adding more hair at each subsequent point. Make sure the braid is a little loose, as you will be moving it around.
Tie off the end with an elastic band.
Repeat the same for the other section.
Take one braid and secure it on the opposite side, behind the ear.
Position the second braid over the first and pin it behind the ear on the opposite side.
You'll see that there's a fine drop of hair just below the braid. This will only appear if you leave your hair loose while continuing to add hair to the braid.
If your hair is very straight, make sure you use a little extra hairspray while braiding.
Beehive bun

A classic of the 1960s, it used the French twist technique plus the bouffant (volume at the top of the head). This style became iconic with Audrey Hepburn
Directions
Comb your hair to detangle it. Part your hair on one side.
Brush all the hair to one side, securing it in place with bobby pins.
Create a puff at the top by holding the hair as you would a high ponytail and pushing it up. If you think the puff won't stay in place, secure it with pins.
Twist the high ponytail into a French twist and pin it in place.
Take the side sections and pin them under the French bun.
Dutch braid

Also known as an inverted braid.
Directions
Comb your hair to remove all knots and tangles.
Take a small section of hair from where you want the braid to start and divide it into 3 equal sections.
Braid the hair at two points. The middle section is always below the side sections.
After two stitches, add some hair from outside the braid to the side sections. Again, weave the hair into two points and then add more hair on the sides.
Keep doing this until you reach the end of the hair and tie it off with an elastic band.
Wrap the bottom half of the Dutch braid into a bun. If you have medium-length hair, a smooth bun will highlight the braid and create a chic look. If you have long hair, a full bun will look stunning, You can even bring the braid diagonally and finish the bun at the side of the nape of the neck
French twist

The French bun is nothing more than a twisted updo and is also a hairstyle classic
Detangle your hair with a comb. If you have fine-textured hair, apply a little dry shampoo to add volume.
Gather your hair in the center of your head.
Start twisting the hair inwards (towards the head).
Once all the hair has been twisted, secure the bun in place.
Let a few loose strands of hair frame your face, giving the hairstyle a boho touch
See French bun method 2

The difference in this method is that you don't use bobby pins to secure the first part, so that the lower part of the bun is looser.
Instructions
Align your hair
Apply a little fixative to the entire strand to add volume
Gather your hair into a section as if you were going to make a tail
Wrap the large strand around your hand, inwards towards your head
Carefully remove your hand and secure with bobby pins
Medium bun

Instructions
Divide your hair into 3 parts
Separate a 5 cm section of hair at the front (top of the head).
Tie the middle section into a high ponytail and if you have little volume place a donut under the base.
Cover the donut with the ponytail and tie an elastic for a puffy ponytail look.
Take the left strand of hair and wrap it with the loose end of the ponytail from the middle strand around the donut bun. Secure with bobby pins.
Repeat the process on the other side. Secure the bun with bobby pins
If you have bangs or smaller sides, twist them gently, wrap them around the bun and secure the ends with bobby pins.
Gatsby hair

An iconic style from the 1920s and very simple to make. You'll need a headband
How to do it
Position the headband
Start passing strands of hair, starting from one side towards the other
Twist to the end, securing the ends under the headband.
If your hair is very straight, use fixative and help the hair stay in place using bobby pins.
High bun

Instructions
Make a high ponytail
divide into 2 strands
tie the strands together, then tuck the ends under the bun
adjust by pulling strands to create more volume
See the same technique for longer hair:

Once done, pull out a few strands and leave the bun loose
The same technique for curly hair:

If your curly hair is short, you don't need to tie it, just clip some strands and leave others free.
